The Fifth Annual Pickin’ n Pullin’ BBQ Competition will take place on Friday, April 27th – Saturday, April 28th, 2018. This competition is for both casual backyard grillers as well as seasoned pros and will be held at Rockahock Campground 1428 Outpost Road Lanexa, VA 23089.

After hosting 46 professional KCBS teams and 48 Backyard BBQ teams last year we can't wait to see what's in store for 2018! The Backyard BBQ Competition is a perfect solution for testing out your skillz and getting some real feedback from the KCBS judges.

In addition to the two BBQ competitions, there will be many festivities for this year’s patrons. All of these fun events will help support Proclaiming Grace Outreach, a local non – profit organization whose mission is to help those in need of food, clothing and small home repair. Starting at noon on Saturday kids can jump on the inflatable bounce park, including a 65 foot long obstacle course, a 30 foot tall slide and a toddler size jump house just to name a few.

There will be vendors selling all types of merchandise from jewelry to BBQ accessories. A variety of food will be available for purchase from food trucks such as pulled pork, brisket, ribs, chicken, fries, sweets and more! We would all like to walk around and taste everyone's BBQ but not every team is set up to pass local health codes. The teams that are set up to pass local health codes will compete in a People's Choice category at 3:00 PM on Saturday. You can judge this competition by making a $5 donation to Proclaiming Grace on the day of the event.
